What Is Adobe Photoshop?

Adobe Photoshop is the industry-standard image editor for photographers, retouchers, and designers. For iris photographers, Photoshop is where the final polish happens — color tweaks on the iris, brand overlays, frame compositing, and print-ready exports.

Until now, sending an iris into Eye.Photo for AI enhancement and then bringing the result back into your Photoshop project required several manual steps: export a JPG, upload it through the browser, wait for processing, download the result, drag it into your PSD. The official Eye.Photo Photoshop plugin removes every one of those steps.

What the Plugin Does

Enhance Iris

• Flattens the active document to a PNG behind the scenes
• Uploads directly to Eye.Photo over a secure direct-upload channel
• Polls processing status with a live progress bar
• Brings the enhanced result back automatically when it's ready

Re-upload Edits

• Add layers, retouching, color tweaks, or annotations on top of the iris
• Click Re-upload and the plugin crops to the iris square, merges your edits, masks to a circle, and sends it back
• Transparent corners are preserved so the iris stays round on Eye.Photo
• The Eye.Photo result is replaced with your edited version — no separate upload step

Layer or New File

• Default: enhanced iris is added to the current document as a new layer named eye.photo result #N
• Tick Open result in new file before enhancing to get a fresh Photoshop document instead — handy when you want a clean canvas to retouch
• Either way, the plugin remembers which document maps to which Eye.Photo record for re-upload

• Useful for sharing a result with a customer, downloading print-ready exports, or attaching to an order

Recommended Studio Workflow

Inside Photoshop

• Open the raw iris photo from your shoot
• Add the customer name and email in the plugin panel (optional, remembered for next time)
• Click Enhance Iris — the docked progress modal walks you from upload to import
• Edit, retouch, or composite the returned iris layer however you'd normally finish a client image

With Eye.Photo Plugin Flow

• AI enhancement runs in the cloud while you keep working in Photoshop
• Result is delivered straight back into your active PSD
• When ready, click Re-upload Image to push your edited version back to Eye.Photo
• Open the photo in your browser to deliver to the customer or queue for print

Installation

The plugin is distributed as a single Creative Cloud package (.ccx) that works identically on macOS and Windows. Download it from your Eye.Photo dashboard, double-click the file, and Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop installs it into Photoshop automatically.

After installation, open Photoshop and find the panel under Plugins → Eye.photo. Paste your Eye.Photo API key once and you're ready — every photo you enhance counts against your Eye.Photo plan, exactly the same as photos uploaded through the website.
